Located in the historic Benson area, Rose Hill Elementary is bound to the south by the old Country Club area of Omaha. Rose Hill serves a diverse community boasting a wide range of socio-economic levels. The newly renovated building opened to students in March 2002. Currently, Rose Hill serves approximately 285 students in grades Kindergarten through Five. The school's mission statement is "building a solid foundation for life-long learning." Rose Hill's educational program emphasizes three learning goals for students: reading, writing and mathematics. Rose Hill is proud of its active, supportive parent teacher organization and its partnerships through the Adopt-a-School program. Our Vision Rose Hill Elementary School will be an exemplary neighborhood school renowned throughout Omaha for its positive and supportive learning environment, collaboration and teamwork among staff and community, and a standard of high expectations for all resulting in ever-increasing student achievement. School Improvement Criteria Coaching Look-Fors Attendance: ü By May 2020, Rose Hill will reduce the percentage of students missing 5% or more of their school year focusing on creating a 2% increase in the not chronic domain moving from 54.67% to 56.67%. o Establish and maintain an Attendance Team to consist of the principal, school support liaison, counselor and other staff appointed by the principal. o Attendance Team meets weekly to review attendance dashboard Language Arts: ü By 2020, Rose Hill will increase the percentage of students identified as being on track or college and career ready from 49.3% to 54.3% on NSCAS-ELA. ü Demonstrate an increase of 5% of students exceeding projected growth on MAP assessment by 2020. Lessons include the Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting concepts, content and skills, activities, questions and assessments. o Emphasize inquiry based scientific investigations utilizing Elevate Science curriculum and the 5 E model of teaching science (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate) giving students hands-on opportunities to engage in experiments and labs. MTSSB: ü Implement MTSS-B Tier 1 practices and systems with fidelity along with introducing Tier 2 check-in/out systems.
